I know the code means that the rail pressure is too low, but my question is will this put my truck into a type of limp mode or reduced power? I have had this code come up before and I just clear it out. I am asking because I have truck pulled before and had the code come on but I didn't clear it for the next hook, (I was the test puller) and I was wondering if I should have or if it was ok to leave it because it will just come on again when I pull again. If it drops the power then I guess I should clear it to at least start out with full power. Just wondering anyones thoughts on this. I know I need a lift pump and that should help alot but I am just curious how this works now.

i believe it will throw it in a reduced power state. you can also shim your fuel rail and thats a cheaper easier alternative till you get a lift pump. I am still sometimes getting that code and i have a lift pump.

shimming the rail may help that but when I had this problem on my 06 I added a lift pump and the code went away.

I would try a liftpump first, your going to need one anyway. A liftpump solved my 0087 problem.

Fresh filter(s) and a good lift pump setup to begin. If the problem persists, you'll want to either turn the tuning down or add a shim kit. If you add the lift setup before you beat the valve up too bad you generally will be fine.
