: Coolant Type and Coolant Filter? AZfire 07-13-2009, 04:51 PM hello all, i am trying to get a feel for the best coolant type for and '05 lly 2500hd and also some input on coolant filters that i have read about here and there. what do you all recommend that have had experience with this? thanks! I just installed this last week. Very straight forward and the toughest part was figuring out how I wanted to mount it. I used a piece of 3/4" aluminum plate and mounted the base to the plate on the unused 2nd alternator mount. In addition, the engine coolant may require changing sooner, at 30,000 miles (50 000 km) or 24 months, whichever occurs first. Any repairs would not be covered by your warranty.
