There was a modification posted not to long ago about keeping them on with the high beams. I would say that you could redo that mod to make them stay on all the time. Guess you could cross them over with the DRL's and maybe that might work. Look for the All lights on thread or something like that. Good luck.

At $16 per replacement bulb I can live with mine off during the day :) but a diode to the DRL's should work

$16 bulbs??? Are they BJ Bulbs??

I was shocked too! I had one go out abouty 6 weeks ago. The best deal I could find for just a comparable replacement bulb of the same wattage as the OEM was at Advance Auto Parts.

If someone has them cheaper, I'd sure like to know!!

I second the diode deal. Look for the thread that has a few pics of the fuseblock from max power.

I have mine dioded to come on with the lowbeams. I didn't need them on all the time.

Just so you know, all parking lights come on with the fog lights.

Dont the fog lights keep the light lower to the ground for better visability when there is fog??? How does this blind you?.......Ive been flashed more times with just my lows on in this truck then any other vehicle Ive ever owned.....

Fog lights are directed lower to the ground to see "UNDER" the fog. Helps light up the sides of the road close to you so in case there are any deer also. Do you need some MIDOL??

Sure if they are adjusted correctly......(at the groundFOG LIGHTS!..........ON with NO FOG...JACK A$$ diving behind me usually never checks his light adjustment...WHY AGAIN do we need our fog lights on to see in the fog or no fog when you are FOLLOWING another driver.....Maybe you should have your headlights adjusted????They are flashing for a reason....
I dont mind someone running there lights when there is actually fog...but when there isnt any...Hey you look really cool!

Like I said.I dont mind it when people use the lights when fog is actually present
Really !..........Deer skin must have some special reflection abilities I have never heard of?
Ya they sure help you see that deer at the last second...a few feet from your car.
So then they should be pointed out ( to each side for the deer) and down.
But hey you look really cool...........

:blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: Exactly typical reaction of someone who thinks its cool....never mind the common courtesy of the other driver......NICE!
But hey you look really cool!

LMAO......
I live in the mountains with tons of people who think thet can see better with fog lights on...with no fog....Thats bassically what your saying right....Oh and the deer....I dint care how good your lights are your not going to see a deer jumping out of the trees on a pitch black road doing 50mph...Oh until you actually hit it....or it jumped out so far ahead of you.You actually had time to respond

exactly....:blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

There are many different kinds of lights that people put on the front of their cars these days. There are driving lights, fog lights, Velux motorized sky lights ... we've seen 'em all. Most of them are purely decorative. And many are used and/or aimed incorrectly, and they simply blind oncoming drivers.
But fog lights, when used and aimed correctly, might be useful to some drivers. As you probably know, if you project light directly into the fog, it bounces off the fog droplets and reflects in all directions, making it even harder to see. That's why you use your low beams in fog rather than your high beams.
Fog lights are low-mounted lights (bumper level or below) that project light that's cut off at the top. So the light pattern on a good-quality fog light goes straight out at bumper level and down, but not higher than that
The reason for this is that fog tends to hover about 12 to 18 inches off the ground. So by projecting light in that fog-free pocket, you can illuminate the road a greater distance from your car and therefore see farther ahead. Some people swear by fog lights. Others claim that they don't really make much difference.
I must have missed the part were the fog light along with your high beams helps you ...I also seemed to miss were they help with the deer..............Dont they make little special deer horns...That put out a ULTRASONIC frequency that deer and other animals can only hear...Maybe they shoud start selling them as a package deal.....lights and whistles....Nice..I think you can get them chrome..Then you will look really cool.............................YA!

Opinions are like a$$holes.... Everyone has one... Just this one above stinks!

Don't b!tch until you try it. Many people here are actually finding it safer to have more light on the road. Properly adjusted lights are adjusted to avoid blinding other drivers. It is not just a cool factor for me and many others here.

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you have a medical condition that makes you more sensitive to oncoming light? Cataracts comes to mind.

No..No Eye problem!..........Until the jacka$$ come up with his fog lights on....or rides behind me with them on.....(how does the back of my truck look?)a Aain why do you need the fog lights on when your behind another driver......thats right looks cool....are you sure you dont have a medical condition....how friggin bright do you need it too see? So know the stock lights from the manufacture are not enough...Your killin me...Its just not polite...kinda like driving with your high beams on...
I just dont see the point..............If your the only one on the road ok...Your truck alone has sidemarker lights that actually light up the side of the road..or do you not pay attention to that...NOT as cool! I geuss!
I tried it....didnt see the point...again make sure they are properly adjusted....unless you have a lifted truck..then whats the point.................

jstwkd is not mad at people who drive with there fog lights on, he's envious of people that have a motor vehicle any motor vehicle.

After jstwkd is old enough to get a drivers license and saved up the money to purchase a vehicle (with fog lights) and put a few thousand miles under the belt; THEN we should invite jstwkd back for an adult conversation on fog lights, based on Real World Experience. :p:

Your opinion is not a technical answer to Runninhorn's question, please do your Ranting in Off Topic.

Right in my eyes....... :)

The fogs tend to light up the space before the low beams are effective when properly adjusted. They also light up the space to the shoulder of the road. It is my preferred way of having my lights for the safety reason alone. No medical condition here, just live in BFE.

You may want to check the adjustment of yours. They were seriously misaligned from the factory on mine, and yours is probably pretty far off with that lift.

Just so you know... The side markers are just that. Markers! They do nothing, and are not intended to serve an illumination function.

Good luck with your opinion.

Actually I had them adjusted the day it was lifted.....And I have Never had anyone flash me saying they are too bright................I also live in BFE...Away from the city far far away...................Honestly they are very bright and extremely annoying...There is just NO reason for it when someone is behind me or anyone else on the road.....
Its not that hard to figure it out..but I am not going to be the one to help......sorry I just made a point..... than I believe 4 or 5 of you had comments back...But hey I will be the bigger man and let it go.....Even thought they took it to a personal level...
The side markers on most late model cars and trucks actually are bright enough to light up the side of the road...take a look sometime....dont they illuminate the ground around the vehicle after you hot the ynlock button of the keyless entry...quite large I think....marker lamps.....lamps have changed in the last 7 years....just a bit................

And you didn't make it personal by calling people jacka$$es and saying "but hey, you look real cool" You added absolutely nothing to this thread by your totally worthless response. If you want to rant about something start your own thread in the off topic.

I don't get it...... you have 6" lift on 18's but fog lights(which by design are ment to shine 12" to 18" above the road) blind you? :duh: How? Too much bling?
Daytime running lights must KILL you! :D
