Hi i'm new to diesel place, I am 6.5coalroller on diesel bombers I usuallly spend a lot of time on there. I will be a senior in high school this year. I have a pretty big interest in the automotive area and I plan on going to school to become a diesel mechanic after highschool. Rite now i've got a 95 4x4 2500 6.5 TD and i'm plannin on hoppin it up at the end of this month. I'm gonna go to ARP headstuds 40 horse injectors 4 inch exhaust and i wanna add a hx 35 turbo if possible to begin with. Then i'm gonna add in a GL4 chip from heath diesel and maybe water injection.

Welcome to the 'Place.
Sounds like you've done your homework. Some mods, not too crazy. When it is done, you get an A+ on your final exam. :D

Ya i would go to the a team turbo but with as popular as the cummins is it makes the price of a used holset turbo at a really reasonable price and they will spool up 15 pounds very quickly since they are made for 35 pounds max I think. All i gotta do is make a mechanical waste gate controller. I am going to try and make one lyk the one heath sells bout all you need is a bolt spring and lock nut.

IMO the Holset Hx-35w is superior to the Gm-* series turbochargers. They love to run around 15-30+ psi, quick to spool, and make the engine sound much different, as though it's actually running better. Yes the factory wastegate on them is set a little to high for our 6.5s, so a homemade wastegate setup would be ideal.
Hx-35 is a twin scroll turbocharger.
I found my Hx-35w on Ebay for a killer deal and sold my GM-4 for more than I paid for it. You can't go wrong!!!
There will be some oil inlet/drain mods that need to be done. As well as Exhaust outlet to adapt to GM/aftermarket downpipe. Air inlet is exactly 4 inches, compressor outlet is exactly 2.5" (same as 6.5L intake man.) Not easy, but not hard.
Post up some pics during the process so we can check it out. Good luck sir!
Ohh and like said above, you have a great list of mods. Fill out your signature and post some pics of the truck too!!

ya ik i'm lookin on ebay they got some awesome deals. I'm pretty sure me and my friend can fab it up be got all the tools lol. So is the oil line a different size of have different threads? I found a pretty good deal on water mist injection on ebay too but ill prolly do that last cuz i dont pull anything. I'm just waitin to get my gaskets from heath there on the way to my house so once i buy that turbo i'm gonna start wrenchin. Heath diesel said with that chip and injectors i'd be pushin 320 horse at the flywheel lol and with that turbo man i'd think it'll make wonders.

Holset is metric.
My Holset, I used a M12x1.5 Metric x 1/4" Female NPTF adapter for the oil feed line from the GM-3 line, my holset threads were 12mmx1.5 with an O-ring. I bought my adapter from discounthydraulichose.com , but they have a minimum $20.00 order.
The GM-x has 1/4" pipe threads and there adapter is just SAE 45º flare 3/8"IIRC.
The oil drain, bolt it to the holset without the hose coupler at the block, then just pry it over to where the two tubes line up, only has to move like a 1/2", fits perfect.
