I am having a problem with no power to the OBDII port. The lighter fuse is fine and the only way to clear codes is with Banks. Any ideas?

check your wiring plug in the back of your instrument cluster... having similar problem but my cluster is junk... unplug it and plug it back in... not shure if that will affect it but worth a try

I think i found the problem. I was looking closer at the OBDII port and the wires were taped into for the use of a trailer brake. I dont know why they tapped in to these wires. Is any of your trailer brake controilers like this?

nope, mine is hooked directly into the trucks trailer brake control harness that is installed from the factory

You should never have to "tap" into any wires for a brake controller as you can use a connector to get (12V) and "send" all the signals you need. Furthermore if some company is selling a brake controller with out a connector for a Chevy truck well then don't be buying from that company.

Does any one know where the OBDII wires go to?

I tried that. The power wire has to be broken somewhere. Does that wire go to the fuse box under the dash or under the hood?
