I should have done this earlier, but I have nothing but good things to say about the folks from Aero Force http://aeroforcetech.com/index.html on turning around their gauges. I purchased an Interceptor dual gauge setup from them with the EGT probe and amplifier. After installation I noticed something was a little strange with the gauges, I got on their forum and talked to the techs and they said to send them back. I sent them back and waited for about 5 days, then contacted them and said that it would be really nice if they could get them back to me by July 2nd in the morning (we had a long weekend of camping planned for the 4th) so I could tow with my truck and not have to set up the laptop to watch the EGT's....this was the first time I would be towing with EFILive on the truck and was a little worried about the EGT's and boost pressure, etc., with a load on the truck.
That was on Monday June 29, I received an email on Tuesday that said the gauges were in the mail and I would have them by the 2nd as I had requested.
I should say that I offered to pay for expedited shipping. The gauges arrived on the 2nd as promised and there were no additional shipping charges.
It is nice to deal with a vendor that does what he says, and goes out of his way to ensure that the client is happy with his selection of product.
FWIW, these were the only gauges that I found that you can set user defined alarms (I wanted something that I could see when the parameter was out of bounds). They work off the ODBII port and scan the truck much like EFILive. You do not have quite as much control as with EFILive as the gauges do not have all of the parameters supported by EFILive, but for most folks just driving down the road, they will meet all of your needs. Each gauge has two displays so with a dual gauge setup, you can view 4 parameters (and scan more, possibly with an alarm). Is should be noted that you can only set one alarm per gauge (that was not made absolutely clear on the website-or I did not see the statement). In my case I set the EGT and Boost on the 1st gauge with the EGT alarm on that one, then I can alarm any other parameter (in my case transmission temperature) on the 2nd gauge (I usually watch desired rail pressure and actual rail pressure on the 2nd gauge). You can also have up to 2 analog inputs per gauge (I am using 1 for the EGT), but any additional pressure (like drive pressure, or intermediate boost pressure for twins), temperature sensor, or whatever as long as the output is 0-5 volts can be added externally to the gauge-all you need is the electronic sensor, and the parameters it uses for calibration for the 0-5 volt output.
In my case, this is also a LEGAL solution...in Alaska a new law went into effect this spring and the driver of a vehicle can not be able to see a computer screen for any reason (except for the cops!). I have to be VERY careful when I am logging or viewing the Dashboard with EFILive, these gauges allow me to not have to deal with that issue most of the time.
