I am in a market for a turbo back 4 or 5 inch exhaust for my lbz but I am likeing how quiet the stock is inside the cab, what is some after market kits that are good flowing and offer a quiet tone inside the cab?

I like the Magnaflow 5" system Joe, it is a great price for stainless and has a nice quiet tone to it in the cab.

Muffler or muffler delete?

I have a 4" MBRP that has never had any drone or any other fallbacks.
It's almost identical to stock levels in the cab just a deeper tone.

Edit:

Sorry man, I forgot!
It's a 4" Catback with MBRP supplied muffler installed and cat still intact.

I have 5" MBRP and it is not bad inside. Only notice when you get on it. Staying under 2000 rpms and it is not bad at all. 4" be quieter. Running with the high flow muffler it came with. never got around doing the muffler delete.

I tow 13k but I can honestly say it's no louder than stock - the tone is different.

Another great option is the Diamond Eye 4" with quiet tone front-pipe. It has a resonator built into the front-pipe and has a large muffler so the tone inside the cab stays close to stock.

I would use the muffler that comes in the kit because it sounds good or change it out for a Hushpower.

My single stack w/ Hushpower muffler makes less in cab drone then my 5in. MBRP muffler w/ rear exit did.

Magnaflow 5 inch I love it, I don't have any drone on the freeway even with a trailer on! I am kinda hard at hearing sometimes but such good quality and mounts up very, very nicely! SS, band clamps, warranty! Lower EGT's! Do it man, you won't regret it! Its quiet with some rumble then you romp on it and it screams! Then with no muffler:Dmoy bueno

Threads like these are always funny. You're asking a very subjective question that can only be answered by the person asking. I have a 5" straight pipe exhaust on my truck. I can hear it, but by no means do I consider it loud in the truck while cruising loaded or unloaded. You, however, may disagree. Your best bet is to find a truck with an exhaust you are thinking about getting and form your own opinion. Best of luck to you.

I totally agree! Most replys are posting recommendations based on what they own not a comparative test of all products. Only you can decide what you want.

Check out youtube for sound comparisions.

Is there any difference in EGT's from the 4" to the 5"?

Not really, not enough to justify the price difference.

10-4. That was my biggest concern. I prefer the sound of the 4" over the 5". The 5" sounds too "airy" to me but if it lowered EGT's more dramatically, I was going with the 5" anyway.

This is true and why its so hard to recommend a system to a customer. Another thing to consider is the year of the truck. A 5" straight piped kit on an LB7 sounds WAY different on an LMM.

I have the Banks Power dual monster exhaust... I have the muffler & cat delete pipes so that make it a tad louder, but it is still not to loud in the cab.. I love the look & the sound of this system... If you just get the regular system with the muffler it will be quieter then mind. You will love it...

4'' turbo back straight pipe here. personally, i tink its pretty quiet in the cab. from outside or with the windows down it is loud though. from outside when i get on it is sounds like a healthy big block but with some turbo whistle. im sure some people couldnt stand the noise though. personal preference.
