On my 08 LMM with factory nav the screen seems to be screwed up. Sometimes when you start the truck the screen just stays black. The radio still plays but the screen is completlely blank. No clock or anything. No matter how long you drive the truck it never comes on.

Other times you start the truck and the screen works just fine. It has been doing this to me the last week or so.

Any ideas on what might be wrong? Bad connection? Short? It's tough because it doesn't do it all the time.

If you are very agile there are several ribbon cable connectors inside that could be loose. I'll warn you that there are a lot of things to screw up inside if you're not very careful.

isn't it still under factory warrenty?

you might try ejecting the nav disc & reinstalling it---it resets the system...course you'll have to do it when the screen is not blanked out..worth a try...

Not to hi-jack but...NAV DISC? where is that at..I thought it was just uploaded off of a cd not stayed in there..

There is too much data to keep in its memory. So the nav disk is being read fairly frequently.
