Diesel Grinch

Got two out of three Gauges going this Sunday. The boost wasn't that hard. Just had to be careful with casting as we drilled and taped. Thin wall. Under a hard excel I get about 11 psi which seems to be right where it should be.
The other one is the Pyro. What a pain in the Censored Read where everyone says to put it right before the turbo in that flat space in the manifold. They say to drop the wheel well and you can get right too it. Well after removing 15+ bolts I find that there is no way I'm going to drop the well without bending it big time or removing the whole fender. So after a little scratching of the head I decide to cheat. I drill a single hole through the well into the flat space. Tap using the hole and then install the probe. Once done I put a rubber plug to block the hole so that you don't even notice it.
Now once up to temp it's 150 or so at idle. Then cruising around the back roads its about at the 350 mark. When I step on it goes to 650 for a bit. Now on the highway at 65 it's around 500 to 550. Going up a step grade about a mile or so long accelerating it hit 850. Now this was just with the family in the truck and not towing.
Makes me wonder what type of numbers I'm going to see towing the travel trailer this weekend. 4.5 tons is sure to make a difference.
Last gauge to install is the trans. Looks to be easy as the wires and probe reach the drain plug. One of the three adapters look like it would fit. The plug has a large star fitting and I just didn't happen to have that size. So with a little luck and if no one says that I shouldn't use the plug that's where it will go this week. And finally I'll be done.:ro)
