how is every body seeing other member's rides? is there some kind of marking or sticker to identify other members?

hmm, maybe we should have a membership sticker for the back window! what do yall think? Maybe one of the vendors can make us one?? maybe we could get some of the more tallented members to design one??

I'm always thinkin...

Don't want to hijack the thread but I think this fits.

I did a search and couldn't find where this has been discussed. If it has been - nevermind.

How about a DP logo for the back window, then you'd know when you spot a member. Give him a beep beep, wave or how ya doin on the way by.

Something simple. I'm no graphic designer but how about something the size of an index card. Maybe a DP with a cloud of black smoke blowing out of it. I know someones going to post worthless without pics - well you draw one.

Hey Nick - what do you think? I would think they wouldn't be very expensive to get made. I can't draw but I'd be willing to help. We could sell'em for cost plus a couple bucks to support the forum.

We already have those......ask Nick (Diesel Power) or Eric (DmaxalliTech) or John (Kennedy). Those are the guys that I know have them lying around.

At one time he was selling stickers and shirts I believe but not enough guys were buying them. He probably still has them if you looked around nicktane.com

I think most guys dont want a lot of excessive decals, stickers and the like on their trucks. I like a clean truck that isn't loaded down with sticks and the sorts.

The most I'd do is put the letters DP in about a 2" letter on the back corner of the rear window. FWIW.

The ones I saw at nicktane.com looked pretty big. I wouldn't mind something 4-5" but not a giant windshield sticker.

I just checked out nicktane.com I didn't see anything on there. If anyone does have one I'd like to get one. There might actually be more people on here than Ryan and myself. I am starting to see a lot more young diesel drivers around here. I'm a little torn on whether I want them to get into modding on not. Once the bug bites you its over... Anyway, I spotted my truck 2 minutes ago. :)

I take that back I do see the stickers. I am with rolloffhill, they are a little big for me.

I agree with the above posters. I would be looking for something more....Back when I was looking at Chevy Colorados, their site came up with a cool decal and I always thought we could do something like that... I'm not one to plaster a truck full of decals, but there is a corner open for a DP sticker with "pazaz" when it floats by my nose. Any artists in the building?

I have window stickers of www.dieselplace.com but just haven't gotten them on my truck yet.

Did anyonme have their truck on a trailer headed eastbound on I-40 in Tennesee yesterday (5-8-05) heading to races I'd assume? I saw a Black (I think) Chevy on a trailer with what looked like slicks on it headed east on my way back to Missouri. I was headed west at 75+ so I didn't get a good look.

The most I'd do is put the letters DP in about a 2" letter on the back corner of the rear window. FWIW.That doesn't sound like a bad idea...

Just blow a huge cloud of soot as you blow by them. If they chase you, and keep up, they are probably from this site. If they disappear into the smoke and soot behind you they need to be on the DP site!

I give most diesel trucks the "whats up" soot puff as I motor by.:D

Manny's probably got a few hundred rainbow stickers layin' around if you need one!:D Not sure about that one. He use them all up on his truck tractors. You want to know something funny, he lives fairly close by here and there is actually a town called Rainbow closer to where he lives. kinda strange.

I would need a light colored lettering, maybe even white... more options would be nice like say a red letter to match my truck. :)

I've got a friend who makes stickers and such. I'll talk to him and see if he could cut us a deal. So who would need to be in charge of this whole deal?

If there aren't any objections I may try to come up with a little something too and if enough people are interested I will try to see if we can get a deal.

This is just an example that I would like to see. I was just playing around with a paint program. If you or someone wants to use it, they are welcome to it. I think the size I stated is off? Black or dark colored die cut would be nice. Then just the letters can be put on the back wimdow, and not stand out so much. I like my trucks clean too.

I'm no lawyer, but remember, if you want to do a DP logo sticker or whatever, be sure to talk to "Diesel Place" Founder and/or Staff to get their permission. Might be some legalitys to deal with.
Good luck and........:grd:

Just a thought to keep it simple, I don't see a need to put anything more the dieselplace or even a fancy DP. I don't think I personally need the 6.6 duramax turbo diesel on the sticker. Keep it simple and small, it is just something to recognize other members. Not looking to make my truck a billboard

RedRiceEater

I wouldn't do more than just make a design before I even thought about getting them made. I was thinking light colored lettering for those of us with tinted windows.

Reineke
05-15-2005, 05:21 AM
Here is something I thought of while trying to think of simple... It is basic and not advertising at all, just a little something to identify. It's out there, if you think you can improve upon it, you are more than welcome, if it is trash, I'll throw it away...:grd:

Glad not everyone agrees with this sample. It would rule out alot of diesel guys(and gals) that do not have a Dmax(not all of us are as fortunate or can afford).
The pic from the sticker from Nicktane looks good but would not be bad to add a bit more style;) .
I agree with keeping my vehicles clean, I will not have a bumper sticker even if my bumper is crap right now. Window sticker/emblems are ok because they can be easily remove if selling to someone with no desire to have any insignia.
