1988 vandura manual window (driver side)

somebody that shouldnt have sat at the driverside forced the pulley to drop the window. (broke the sector gear , not the pulley itself) it was skipping a single dent at that time and after that , the guy ate some 5-6 theets on the sector gear.

now half the pulley skips , and in the skippy section of the sector gear i can completely drop or lift the windows using my hands.

i wanted to remove the sector gear , then i had doupt about that spring thats waiting to unwind.

on manual windows . ( not electrical ) do i have to lock something with the spring. what holes . i could send photos too . im just out of idea if i can just pull thoses 4 nuts and its done , or if ill completely unwind killing everything in sight.

cheers.

I don't recall there being a counter balance spring on the van windows, power or otherwise. Just on big glass, like my old Z28s.

hey-mccall, thanks for the reply :D

im just scared that the rolled up spring is going to wiplash everywhere. and there's one place where the nut size change from the rest of the window assembly and that looks like what keeps the spring armed.

and i look around it and try to figure the place to hold it down , but nothing.
im taking your advise , but with take one last confirmation cause i worked with lots of springs before , and this look tensed.
(ill will definitely try to take a picture )

cheers!
