OK guys I picked this little trick up living in the bug capital of the world (south Louisiana). To remove those pesky bugs from any surface just wet a Bounce dryer sheet and wipe em off. That's it! No scrubbing or chemicals. When the sheet gets full just toss it and grab another. I dip it in the same soapy water I am about to wash with. I keep the unused ones in the box under the seat for a fresh smell.:D

No scratches...... and the water even still beads off afterwards. It is that easy. But this does not work on Fords or Dodges...... they suck so hard even this trick won't get the bugs off.:D

i've heard of it before but some people have also said that it will leave some fine scratches that are visible on darker vehicles so i aint never tried it on my truck

Wet the dryer sheet and the surface — no scratches at all. Works on glass, too. Especially nice on a tall RV.

My truck is dark blue and to me it is much easier on the paint than harsh chemicals or scrubbing. Maybe if you did a very large flat surface like the hood ya might see some scratches.... but on the small headlight and grill pieces I doubt it. Good luck

Anyone use "REJEX" on those bug areas? My dad uses it on his airplane and swears by it. From the Rejex web site...

SPACE AGE PROTECTION FOR YOUR CAR, TRUCK, BOAT, RV, AIRPLANE & MOTORCYCLE
RejeX is a thin-film polymer coating designed to provide a high-release surface. This very thin film – less than a micron thick – prevents stains and adhesion of common contaminants such as exhaust, bugs, oil, tree sap, bird droppings, road grime, brake dust, etc. It also makes graffiti easy to remove and can be applied to windshields to repel rain. It’s easy to apply and produces a deep, lustrous shine that outlasts the most popular waxes by months.

Before I take a long trip, I use baby oil on the areas that will be attacked by bugs, when I return, they wash right off with very little effort. It works, I just returned from a 1150 mile trip, washed right off the truck and camper...

If I tried the baby oil trick, my truck would be coated with it at least once weekly:D

used it for years here in Florida we have love bugs a couple times a year very hard to get off and if you let them stay for a while the acid will eat the paint. Any drying sheet will work

I have never tired this, but someone told me --- use Pam Spray on the front-- and the bugs don't stick. :D

I have been using RejeX for the past year and I'm VERY IMPRESSED with the results! I applied the RejeX today actually, and once again I cannot believe the finish of my truck once it's on. The truck just jumps out at you. Shiny!!!

I have had great results with easy bug, tar, grime, mud, water spots, and everything in between removal with RejeX on my truck. This winter I intend to apply apply 2 coats that actually get the full 12 hr setup time so I can see how well it holds up to a Kodiak winter.

From what I've seen, the initial application lasts between 1-3 months depending on how long the setup time has been. My first application was left indoors for 15 hrs and lasted 3 months, second application only got 2 hrs indoors with 12 hrs outdoors half of that with sun out, lasted a month before I noticed water "sticking" to the truck. This is a great product, I will buy more! It's a great product!

what color truck are you doing this on? i would be afraid of swirl marks but then again i drive a black truck, i wouldn't care near as much if i had a white truck. i just went to vatozone and bought a bottle of pretty stout bug remover, cant remember the name but it works real well

Instead of spending a lot of money on Bug and Tar remover or using WD-40 I wipe the truck down with JP-8 twice a year to get the real stubborn tar, bug and Kodiak road grime off then wash twice with Dawn dish soap and hot water to get any fuel residue off the paint before I apply the RejeX. In the spring I also use a clay bar after the JP wipe down to get the winter mess off. It's worked great for the past two years, first year just waxed using the free Maguires stuff with the clay bar kit, the RejeX looks better already.

The easiest way to clean bugs off of any factory chrome is a SOS pad. Just wetten it and your grille and bumpers and wipe over it. The bugs will come right off, don't worry it will not scratch the chrome either. I clean friends vehicles too and if they have dirty chrome wheels that are chrome only, no clear I will wipe over them, especially if they have surface rust spots from dog pee or things like that. It will wipe the rust spots right off and never leave a scratch! DO NOT USE ON PAINT! lol Although it will get the bugs and the paint right off!
