question for anyone who has installed the spa egt / boost gauge in their
lly ....... i got the kit from john kennedy , and i installed it tonite the problem i am having is the boost is flashing the error code !!!!!! Censored
now i think the problem is that the kit came with a transducer
and not the boost line / fitting set up !!!!!!

any help would be appreicated on this install problem .....

if you have insalled this in your truck let me know what was in your kit !!

also i installed the fitting in the intake tube , not the upper intake casting ...... i dont see any thing wrong with the location of my install ...

whats your opinion ???????????

As far as I know, SPA doesn't use a fitting boost line, it needs the sending unit, everything is electronic. I don't have my manual right in front of me, but you need to make sure the guage is set for the right sending unit, and you also need to zero it out, the manual will tell you how. If you can't get it, I'm sure you can give John a call Monday and he'll help you out.

One more thing, the sending unit connection is VERY sensitive. I used to get quite abit of erroneous readings until I put dielectric grease on the connections.

Installing the sending unit in the intake tube will cause no problems at all.

I haven't tried in an ungrounded situation, but SPA requires the transducer be grounded.

You'll have to be more specific about the term "air intake tube" meaning is this referring to the intercooler pipe?

i tried to ground the transducer ( ground wire on the transducer body to the neg. of the battery) ...... nothing still flashing fault !!!!!

yes it is in the intercooler pipe , the aluminum pipe that goes from the bottom of the intercooler to the intake casting ...... :help: :help:
