: first hook
steiner43511 05-07-2005, 05:45 PM well i just got done pullin my truck for the first time. 191' is what i got. my two buddies and their hopped up 24 valves only got 235' and 237' so i am pretty happy with my result. they got a hell of alot more power than i do. the class was 6000 pound, but we just pulled for fun. my two buddies weighed 7000 and 7200. i was 6200 so if i would have pulled my tool box and tailgate i would have made weight and would have then placed fifth in the class. might be able to get video on here, not sure though.
Joey D 05-07-2005, 07:52 PM I hope it's not your last time. I have 4 hooks to the sled and it's a lot of fun. Not many around so they are a ways to travel. I have never been weighed there as they just have a run what you brung at the local fair and the others were at had 1 diesel class so you run what ever shows up.
dieseldummy 05-07-2005, 09:41 PM Pullin' is a kick in the shorts. I've done it a couple times and always get beat out by trucks that weight 1000 or more lbs than me... Wont stop me though. Good job on what you did, maybe next time you'll kick their butts.
SnowDrift 05-07-2005, 09:50 PM Man, that's neat!! I'd love to try something like that, but if I tanked the tranny on something like that, my wife would just CRAP! I get on her about spending money on goofy things, so if I did something unnecessary like that, I'd never hear the end of it.
My thumbs up to you, steiner! Marion fair around July 4th if you're interested. Pretty sure they have a stock class. You would surely have my support all the way:D
SnowDrift
94duallyman 05-07-2005, 11:53 PM Thats awesome, I have thought about hooking up, but all we have is a diesel class, so if you have a diesel engine you run, know matter how much you have on your truck. There is usually some cummins that show up that are pushing around 600 hp and 900 ft lbs, so I wouldn't have a chance!! But sure does sound like fun, good job steiner!!
guybb3 05-08-2005, 08:43 AM you guys in the midwest have all the fun. if we had a fair in mass. the liberal lawyers here would probably want to have a sue off instead of a pull off
steiner43511 05-08-2005, 09:02 AM there was in antique tractor pull too and my other buddy pulled his cockshutt 40. this thing had been sittin outside for 4 years before we got it. got it runnin and ready to pull after a couple of months of work. it did real well pullin in the 240-250 range both times. it looks like a pile of ****, but it does run and sound good. its got a 4 inch stack leftover from exhaust.

I go to the Marshfield fair and there is a pulling club out in the Springfield area.
