A while ago I posted here about a problem with the drivers window on my 02 2500HD,at the time I assumed that the control was bad even though the passenger window could still be operated from the drivers armrest.I tried a new control and it still didn t work,so I removed the doorpanel and started checking to see if any wires were loose etc.,I had already checked all the fuses and so on so I was stumped.Later the same day I was driving past an auto glass shop and on the spur of the moment wheeled in and asked if there was any thing they could check out that I hadn t thought of.The door panel was still off so the guy checked to see if the cable that moves the track was broken,it wasn t,we then removed the plastic vapor barrier and exposed what he called the regulator.Three medium whacks with a small ball peen hammer and the window was working perfect,apparently this is fairly common on late model GM trucks as the guy said he has seen quite a few like this probably due to moisture and condensation.Sorry to make this so long but maybe some one else can benefit from this experience,regards.

Very true. That 1998 GMC Jimmy I bought had the same trouble. Read on one of the S-10 forums to smack the window motor with a hammer a couple times because they sometimes get "hung up". It worked!
