Well I have been tire shopping lately. I noticed all of the new Revos have slight tread patern difference then the Revos on my truck???

The very center tread block. The new tires have a diaganol slash every 2 ". Mine do not. The guy at the tire store said my Revos are the original Revos and the ones at tthe store are the REVO II. He said they changed to improve tread wear. So this might account for the large descrepancy in milage feedback we are seeing?

I am not sure what to think right know, alls I know is I am at 30K and I have 3/32" left. I am due!

Now if I can just decide between another set of 265's on the stock alluminum wheels or 285/70/17 on a 17" rim with 5" back spacing????? Will it rub? That is the question. These tire guys seem to think they know my truck better than the collective wisdom of 16,000 members. Censored

You mean they don't?!

It is interesting how the wear has been different with some. I'm at 40k on mine and know that I'll need some soon myself. Also debating on going to a larger tire and wheel combo or just getting another set of the Revo's. Have to say I'm happy with the mileage I got out of mine with the trailer load that has been on the back axle at times.

You mention 285 and they freak on you. They get hung up on the rubbing. Try and mention torsion bars, bumper spacing, air dam trimming or add-a-leafs and they look at you like you are the stupidst guy they have had in there shop all day.

I will have to go in and say that is what I want, now shut the **** up and install it!

Bronco,

When did you get your Revo's? I got mine 2003 Nov....and I am at 48K and am going to replace here shortly. But I do not tow...that could be it...otherwise happy with 50k miles out of the tires. Mine are 265 E's.

Ron

I purchased the Revos 10/ 8/03. I had 16,900 miles. I now have 45000. So that is 28200 miles with a 3/32" tread left.

Do your tires have the separation in the middle tread block? Tire rack has a picture. I have no separation, never did. Supposedly they changed that along the way?

Bronco,

I have the 'new' tread...it has the cut in the middle tread block...maybe that is why they have lasted up to now nearly 50k.

I am going to stick with the same tire...but I need to line-x my rear quarter panels because I have no mud flaps and significant amount of stone chips with these tires.

Bronco,

Thanks for the info. I have the "old" tread design and was seriously thinking about a different tire. These revos haven't lasted much longer than the original firestones which only made it to 30K. The goodyears on my 1500 made it to 75K, but it wasn't juiced.

After reading this thread i think i will stick with my Michelins in the Summer and toyos in the winter. I get 3 winters/ 2 summers on the sets that way!

Around here you need one tire that can do everything 365 days a year, Never know what condition you will be in.

Both are M/S rated.

The Toyos are more aggressive in snow than the LTXM/S or LTX A/T

When you live in the rockies with a truck, always have the best tires for the season. Especially with 9 mountain passes between here and the wet coast

Just out of curiosity, I checked my REVOs and they are the same as shown on the Bridgestone website and have the diagonal dash as described in the first post. I've had these tires since the early summer of 2003.
