I have a small tale to tell, You guys are gonna love this. When I bought my Dodge I was slightly torn between Cummins and Ford. Well I know now that I have definitely made the right choice. Due to not enought cab space me and a friend of mine ended up using his 01 Powerjoke to go to Denver,CO to pickup a parts truck for on of my builders. Very unimpressed with the whole deal that trip cost well over $150.00 in fuel, the truck barely averaged 9 miles to the gallon and on the hills sounded as if it may croack out at any time. My buddy says thats normal, I'm comparing apples with oranges but my Cummins on the Same trip 6 weeks earlier averaged almost 14 mpg. What do you think? Is that a "dog" or what? The Ford is all stock, no add ons or upgrades but I guess that it should do a lot better than that for all the bragging i have heard. Shademan

I had a friend that had a 2000 or 2001 7.3 and the way he drove it he never got better than 9 mpg. He traded for a 6.0, I think it's a little better but not much from the way he talks. He never takes his foot off the floor though...

The Ford was prolly bombed, then sold after they messed it up. Got a bad deal. We have a couple 7.3's and they get around 15ish stock. I bet that PSD had some extra juice added in the past. Bad deal IMO.

In 2004 over 200,000 powerstrokes sold, also in 2004 duramax 150,000 sold and last but the least Dodge the Cummuns only 140,000. Do the math.
