I am a newbe here so if this has been addressed already please point me to a solution.

I have a 2001 Duramax in a chevy 2500HD. +50k miles. I run Amsoil with the bypass filter system. I have had the fuel & air filters changed at the proper intervals.

The problem is after it warms up at idle with foot on brake engine will rev up about 50RPM for a micro second and do this very 10 to 20 seconds. If the brake is not firmly in place the truck will lurch foward. This is a real picnic when parking in tight spots. this problem has been going on for the past 15 to 20k miles.

The dealer has "reprogramed" the truck 3 times. each time the problem goes away for a while but returns after a month or so. They claim to have "checked the internet" with no solution results.

Am I a lone ranger with this problem or have there been others?

Thanks for your help.

Part of what you are experiencing was a problem on 2001 and possibly early 2002 models. A place to start at least.

I read on another post it was something to do with the allison or allison computer causing it. (I think)
