I am just in the process of trading in my 2500hd 6.0 gasser crewcab in for a 3500 crewcab dually with LLY, it has approx 46000miles (74000km).
I hear there are the odd overheating issues but I dont think it will affect me, as I will only haul max of 10000lbs for shorter distances with no severe grades....and no super hot temperatures on Vancouver Island, any longer trips I will more than likely only have a 2500lb slide in camper, and possibly a couple ATVS on the trailer

I am going to do a full service on it, oil change, trans oil change, diffs, transfer case....ETC

Any recommended brands for fuel filter (wix/ac delco)

I was going to get the allison trans filter

Thanks for any info

I am partial to Fleet Guard filters, and if you find your local cummins dealer, I believe they own Fleet Guard, and their price will be way lower then AC Delco.

Where on Vancouver Island are you? I'm in the Alberni Valley. If you want, PM me and I can tell you the best place to get your filters and oils on the island.

Oh btw, I run an LLY also. Knocking on wood I've never had a problem with it other than self induced ones. Tows nice, I'm hauling my "Ontario" car home tonight from Victoria.

Awesome, u will love it...just a lil' advice on a Dually (assuming it's ur first)...U need some weight in the bed if u r going to use it everyday, I have alot of weight in tools so i am good...if u r empty in the bed, try and throw like 300ish pounds (or a truck cap helps alot...about 300 lbs...got one to keep my tools safe and the truck looks awesome) in the bed, plywood works great...dually's bounce un-loaded, gotta put some weight on the springs and they ride like a 'Caddy bro. Good luck w/ it.
