There is a 2 or 3 second delay before pressure shows on my gage.

Is this normal?

Thanks. Brian.

It is your oil pressure sending unit acting up. $33.00 at NAPA. Easy to install!:ro) My gauge flickers a little bit while warm. Stays in normal range but the needle tends to jump a little.

Mine does the same, however, the wait isn't as long. I'll check tomorrow when I get in. As far as I can tell, once it fires over, the pressure begins to build within a second. I always look when I release the key.

Are you saying that once you release the key you can basically count to three and then it finally starts registering on the gauge?

Have a good one!!

Mine does the same thing. Wouldn't worry about it. Especially if you are running 15w40.

Thats a good point, if it's cool out it may take just a bit for the oil to move.

Have a good one!!
