I have a aftermarket alarm and remote start on my truck.

Once in a while the security light will stay on after I start the truck and won't shut off till I shut the truck off, but everything else works fine and the truck drives no problem's even with security light on, then when I restart the truck the light is out and all is good.

Today I ran to the store after work and when I came back out the truck wouldn't start, motor would crank and I had fuel but it wouldn't fire up.
I thought of the security light so I tried to cycle the key a bunch of times and I even locked the door with the lock button and closed it and it took the security light about 20 seconds to go out after door was closed. I did that a couple of more times and then I tried to start and it fired right up.

Shut it off a few more times after that while I was running more errands and it started just fine.

I heard of the part that ties into the PASS 2 might go bad once in a while and cause something like this, but I'm not sure

Does anyone have any ideas or other possibility's of what it might be.

Thx

PS. Trying to start your truck and it not starting when it's supposed to is not a good feeling.:(

You probably need to do a couple of things.
1. Find out what kind of module you have for the security bypass. For an 03 or newer, you want a data module.
2. PM Max Power. He has helped more than a few people out of jams with their remote starters.

Also, the security light is supposed to stay on for a period of time after the doors are closed. This is to indicate the system is getting ready to arm. If you open a door while the light is still on (say from the inside), the alarm won't sound. If you wait until the light does out and then try to get out of the truck you will set off the alarm.
