I have a 06 GMC Sierra 2500 pick-up. I want to put tires adn rims on it. I use the truck to tow so should I stay with the 16" rims or upgrade to 18" rims? I dont want to lose the tire he weight when I tow. Also I want to put some wider rims on it so there is more surface area on the gorund. Whats the best tire and rim size to go with. Any help would great thanks....

How about an economical compromise? Do you have any interest in the 17" Hummer H2wheels (8.5" wide IIRC)? Cheap to get, lots of good tire size options, good rim weight rating, and IMO more durable than most aftermarket wheels (no or at least fewer chrome pitting, flaking, etc. issues from what I have seen).
I have been very happy with my H2s and you can put tires on it from 265 to over 300 in width.
Hope this helps. Have fun with your search.
