I have a Nictane style pre-oem fuel filter with a Cat 1R-0749 and I crossed with Balwin and they say BF7587. Neither filter has a drain in the bottom. Does anyone know if Balwin makes a replacement filter for the Cat with a drain in the bottom? If so what number?
Thanks David

The 1R-0749 doesn't have a drain because it is not designed as a water separater. A Cat 175-2949 has the same thread size as 1R-0749, has a water drain, but larger micron rating (10 micron I believe). Baldwin # is BF1268

I do beleve yall just gave me a brainstorm of how to set up my idea of theideal fuel filter system: The 10 micron filter, in Baldwin or Cat, with a WATER DRAIN, installed on my Nicktane head and lines, and then the new, improved dual layer, dual media OEM. I've always believed in progressive filtration, and never saw the need for the 2 micron as primary. Allow the final filter to do some of the work
In a perfect balance, they would both need a change at the same time.:ro)
