Hey all i just picked up a 55 gal drum for wvo. Problem is the resturant that im working with says he needs it to be an open top one not the one i have.

Any ideas on how to get the lid off without destroying the drum itself and using it as one of the open lid ones.

I use those for wash/dry/filter tanks. Plumb the bungs with ball valves, flip it over, drill a hole in the bottom to start then use a jig-saw w/ metal blade to cut a half moon into the bottom.

But that ruins a nice close top drum. Just get a different one?
