I just purchased a Hypertech for my truck - starting out SLOWLY ):h . I don't have any gauges yet. Will I be OK for the short run? I don't drive it too hard now but who knows after I get it installed! The only thing that is NOT stock on my truck are the tires (285/75/16). Thanks!

Set the Hypertech to level 3 and don't worry about a thing. Really.

I keep mine on 3 and roll. Dont worry about it. Hypertech puts out good numbers for a tuner but not anywhere near the Edge or banks system. Leave it on 3 and have fun.

I am pretty sure that I am going with Hypertech also, do I need to worry about an increase in EGT temps? Do I need to upgrade the exhaust immediately or can I put it off. I plan on going with Magnaflow exhaust in the future but not sure how far off that is.

Hey 04, I also use HyperTech. I used it before I upgraded to my BANKS cat-back. Had no problems running it on Level 3 and pulling my 19' Ski Nautique. But I was like you, I was going to upgrade the exhaust very soon. Then since I run the HyperTech on level 3 and had the BANKS on, it decided to open up the air intake. I went with VOLANT and it a good system. You can see all up grades by clicking on the link below in my signature.
