I was looking at the instructions for installing this today and was wondering do you need a special tool to disconnect the factory fuel lines. They refer to them as quick connects and if I remember correctly, the old style trucks you needed a special tool to remove the fuel lines. Is this still the same on the 06' to 09' trucks?

You do need the fuel line disconnect tool. They slip around the fuel line, and you squeeze the tool, and pull it like toward you. They typically come off pretty easy.

Yes just goto an auto parts store and get the 3/8 and 1/2 disconnect tools. Plastic ones like $3 a piece. A whole kit for like $15 bucks. Simple snap over the fuel line, push into the connect fitting, push in far enough that you also push the hose in a bit. Then as you pull out keep the tool up against the the larger portion of the hose you are removing. You will under once you remove it or can see the fittings in the Airdog gen II kit. The connector has prongs that spring down once the fitting is in to keep it from sliding back out. The tool just makes the bulb portion of the hose fitting to be longer so the fingers don't come down. The key is to push the hose in a little further so as not to screw up the fingers. Don't want to bend them back. If that is done then you need new fitting or blow a fuel connector and run fuel down the road. The fuel gauge can drop pretty quick with a 150gallon per hour pump. Keep everything clean and use a little oil on the fittings when you reassembly the old and new ones. Keeps from skinning the oil rings.
