I am new to the site and have been reading all the posts about exhausts and the different brands out there. First question is it legal to go turbo back in Pa. without the cat? What exhaust has the best sound? I am looking for more of a jet engine sound than a hot rod rumble. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The rule is if the vehicle came from the factory with a converter it has to remain on the vehicle. Right now diesel trucks are exzempt from the emissions part of the inspection, but I think in a few years they will be included at least thats what the garage where I get mine done said. I'm assuming you have an lly motor since the lb7 doesnt have a converter. I have the mbrp cool dual set up. It has more of a rumble, but the lly sounds much different with an exhaust system on it.

I went with the MBRP system; my 04 lb7 did not have a converter on it (Jan of 04) but a neighbor down the street purchased one from a different dealer in Dec of 03 and his had one on it. We just could not figure out why. We both are keeping our factory systems just in case we would ever need them down the road.

I also swiss-cheesed the air box and that seemed to help with the turbo and sound also.
