I could us a little help on this one.

Just finished installing a new South Bend flywheel and single disc clutch this weekend. Also added a Fluidampr to the engine. Have driven a tad over 50 miles so far. Today was the first time in stop and go traffic, and sitting there at an idle, the truck has a bad vibration that just shakes everything. It goes away when revved up over 1000 rpm, but at an idle the truck vibrates pretty good. The seat feels like one of those back massager recliners, only not as cool. I can also hear some rumbling in 6th gear driving down the road which never was there before. I filled the tranny up w/ GM Sythetic (still seems wrong to have red oil in a manual transmission).

Is this normal for one of these? Any ideas?

Thanks.

Some of it is because the dual mass flywheel that your truck use to have absorbed some of the vibration that the clutch produced. I assume you replaced the flywheel with a single mass unit that does not absorb vibration. Should be normal, I know mine vibrates at idle.

dumb question did you get the flywheel bolts tight? im sure you did but i havent noticed any unusual vibrations on my truck after puttin in a SB clutch and Solid flywheel. If nothing else call SB and they could prolly help you out a bunch too.

I hope I got the flywheel bolts tight. Don't really want to do it again anytime soon. I was expecting some vibration, but not this much. It doesn't seem to vibrate hardly at all until after driving awhile and the tranny is warm.

Did you get the right flywheel? The 06 flywheel has a different imbalance than the 01-05 flywheel.

My truck has a SB single mass and it does not vibrate like that.

I had my dual mass stuf all replaced a couple months ago with a SB kit and my truck is quieter and smoother than it's EVER been....
