Well, sick as I was today, I decided to install the taillights Tom sold to me
I was very impressed with how easy it was to do!
Unclip the looms, unplug the lights from the harness, 2 screws on each and away we go!
Reinstall to the harness up and behind the spare tire was the same, only in reverse order.
Here is where it gets interesting. Using the 3" Piece of angle iron bolted to the rear bumper supports, I give it a manly jerk to haul my carcass off the driveway when to my chagrin, the piece of angle iron moved! WTF?!?!?!
Now, the truck has had a rear end rattle for a very very long time that was never ever diagnosed. The 3" angle iron is too long to slide out from the framerails, and too thick to have dropped in between the tailgate and the aforementioned bumper supports.
Maybe it is a one time thing, but if you have the same rattle, you might want to take a look see up there and you might have the same piece of metal there.
I'll try to post pics of it tomorrow. Talk about weird!
