Should the bolt holding the cam gear and pump drive be locktited in place? The two engines I have tore down for parts had some sort of locktite on this bolt. My factory manuals don't say nothing about the locktite just a torque value.

i would use loctite there whether they told me too or not. just don't use the green stuff if you ever have any notion of getting the bolts out again

The cam gear is a weak area in the 6.5L. The pump gear that bolts on to the cam gear has only a small portion of the key actually driving the pump. I put loctite on the pump drive gear and the bolt.
