Does anyone know what is in store for the 06' Duramax? Rumors has it that a stronger six speed allison and more HP in coming.

The chevy cargo van will also come with a detuned 250 Hp 470 torque motor due to frame and cooling requirements but will have a new 4L85 trans to handle the duramax torque. There goes my plans to get that one... lardog 06-22-2005, 07:28 PM The Allison trans is to big to put into the van or the surburban so they detune the Duramax to use the 4 L 85 which is a beefed up 4 L 80. It has a new input shaft new tail shaft and a few other minor changes to handle the increased torque demand of the diesel.With the new D.O.D. Displacement on demand in the 5.3 or the 6.0 engines they are expected to EPA at 22MPG for the 5.3 and the Diesel the same at 22. The combined average for the chev van is suppose to be 20.6 MPG. | ||
