Just received my boost valve and noticed 2 different springs are included, assuming my truck accepts the valve, which spring should be used and why?

Lockup oil pressure
WHITE spring = 170 + 20psi
ORANGE spring = 190 + 40psi

Truck was built early Jan 04 and will be using a Precision converter, Transgo shift kit, and OEM clutches.

Thanks in advance!

If all your going to run is a tow tune I would not install it. It raises the line pressure when the converter is locked and is unnecessary for anything less than a Race type tune. If you are planing on a bigger tune then the power level would be what decides which spring to use.

Thanks Steve, I should have mentioned my intentions in the above post. Although the tow tune offers great driveablility and towing abilities, the speed freak within couldn't take a mere 60hp any longer so I knowingly killed the trans by using a higher hp tune:evillol: and I'm patiently waiting the release of a fuel system upgrade and more power, perhaps of the Extreme kind from out on the West coast. That being said, do you recommend the orange spring?

Thanks,
Dave

do you have to drop the tranny to install these things? i have a quad tranny and know nothing about it. 4-5 shift might be weak?

If its what I saw on Trucks, dont flame me for watching that show, but he did not drop the tranny. Does this help the 4-5 shift. I have limped mine with just a mild juice 3 times. Maybe this will help hold it better until the winter?

I think you were watching trim valves being installed if the Ally was still in the truck.
