The are 2 wires coming from the trans up to the fire wall , the plug end is male 2 prong. Where does it go to?
The transmission is a 700 r thm with overdrive.
The transmission will not kick down.
This truck at one time had a duramax in it.

im guessing the wires are for the tourq converter clutch and the not kicking down would be from a broken throttle cable leading down to the transmission

ya the wires are probaly for the torque converter, but the 700R4 should have a 4 prone plug on it not 2, and should have 3 wires going to it.

Kind of depends upon how many wires are upon the connector. It will vary from year to year.

should provide a little more info on truck. saying it used to have a duramax in it makes things confusing. the plug into the tranny is 4 pin and it can have 1 to 3 wires hooked up. the power wire comes from the green wire on the IP. this wire will do nothing for kick down, it just locks/unlocks torque convertor. the tps cable provides kick down and upshift control.

It is a 1988, the previous owner supposing put a duramax in this truck. When he sold he put a it back to stock a 6.2. The engine runs fine, the tranny shifts up thru the gears fine. When going up a hill it dogs out, the trany will will not kick down. The trany is a 700r4 thm-no vacumn modulator. The vacumn pump even has an electrical connector on it that is tied into the TPS on the IP.
We traced a connector from the left side of the trany up to inside the firewall next to the hydoboost we found a square 2 prong plug and no idea where it goes or what it is?
Thanks
