So Ive been thinking of deleting my DPF an think Im going to get the quad S2 to delete the DPF an run a Banks Turbo back dual exhaust for an LB7 with the banks intake,six gun an maybe speed brake, what do you all think about that setup I dont want a drag truck but I do want some more power to beat those ricers an little mustangs that think they got 1000hp:rolleyes: please tell me what you all think we are a little biased to banks family has used banks on all there Dmax's.

I love my Stealth2 and DPF delete. By far the best the best thing I ever did for my truck and Im sure many others will agree!!

I agree.

I have the Banks intake, as it was provided to me "to test". I got it for half-price when I decided to keep it. The RamAir intake is a beautiful piece. A little on the pricey side, as is all Banks products. I know they do alot of R&D and their components are top-notch. If you were dead-set on KEEPING your DPF, I would say go with a Banks programmer. They have done the most research and dyno work to make tunes work with DPFs.

Otherwise, there are several MFGs out there that have much better pricing for just as good quality. You can get a Quad S2 and full stainless exhaust for what just Banks exhaust only would cost you. I got mine from DSTRBD here.

Sounds good to me on using the quad to do DPF delete in the ECM and Banks to do everything else. Hopefully a setup like that wont throw codes. Banks is pretty good on not throwing codes but with the extra of Quad in there it maybe tricky. If cost is no object then look into EFILive to do DPF delete and it can be used to help if other codes pop up. Still run your Banks the way you want. It would probably be cheaper to find a local EFILive guy to turn off DPF for you for a license fee of $99 plus their additional programming cost.

Thanks for the replys we do like banks I know i do want the intake seems to be the best on the market an I would really like to get the speed brake aswell, but I was doing some looking an see PPE has a DPF delete with there tuner an better tunes so I might go that route IM not sure yet.

Well might check out Edge EVO unit. It seems to be the number one out now and do so much more than Quad or PPE as to turn some DTCs off. If you block the EGR it can handle that. Give Tyler a call at Meyer Performance on the Edge unit. Check the Vendor list below for contact info on Tyler. He is running it and loves it over the Quad and PPE which he has runned as well on his LMM. Then you can still use Banks after the Edge gets it Programming done. I just recommend returning system back to stock on the Banks and if so actually remove the Banks modules before reprogramming the ECM. Tuners like PPE do not like things that turn on during the program sesssion. Kind of why they recommend pulling fuses for radio and onstar. When programming if a module wakes up or goes to sleep it can scramble the data on the data bus and be hell to fix. So if you go banks unplug it before altering ECM programming.

Careful . . . you can easily be confused by the range of products available.

Edge makes several Evolution models, which are ECM Programmers integrated into their Insight Monitor. They are just now adding the Evolution CS and CTS, fancier graphical Monitors that are more advanced than the earlier Insight Monitor. All four of these ECM programmers leave an ECM footprint that can presumably be traced by GM, with warranty-denial potential. Finally, Edge also makes the Juice Tuner (not Programmer), which plugs-in under the hood without leaving any ECM footprint.

The standard Evolution for the LMM Duramax is SINGLE MODE, programming ONLY
for a factory exhaust system ... meaning it cannot address a "deleted DPF";
The Racing Evolution (at slightly higher cost) programs BOTH MODES at user's option ...
either with the DPF, or after DPF deleted;
Edge's CS and CTS are still standard models (not yet Racing models)
so they won't handle a DPF-delete until later this summer;
The PPE is available for BOTH MODES, more costly for racing model,
priced a bit higher than the Evolutions, but includes NO Monitor;
The Quadzilla Stealth is only half-price versus the Evolution models,
also programs for BOTH MODES, but includes no Monitor.

Ok I thought I was just told on the CS CTS forum that you can get them for the race?? its not a big deal but if I can get the CTS I will.

Assuming you were thinking of an immediate purchase, I was advising that the race versions of CS & CTS are still in Beta testing. They should be available in a couple of months.

You will be MUCH better off going with and Edge Evo RACE unit than the Quad/Banks stack. I dont think Banks has a full down-pipe back system that you could use for the DPF delete either so I suggest checking out MBRP. The Banks intakes are top of the line so that is an excellent choice. Let me know if youd like a quote on a package deal.

You will not believe how much better the truck runs once you get it all installed........:driver:

now im thinking after a bit to upgrade trannys maybe an ats stage 3 then dual CP3 kit an lift pump an then aurora 3000 turbo an then it would be done. I hope. Can you buy just the turbo an not the intake cause I dont need that.

I would do the Garrett 4094VA, its a direct replacement.

Step by step. Don't change too many things all at once. Makes it hard to find what is screwed up if it doesn't run quite right.

Tyler at Meyer Performance. I have a question? can I run safely on level 3 with all stock? or should I stay on level 2.

You want to pay extra just to delete the dpf and then run different tuning? The quad will prolly put out as much as the banks and be more than the tranny can handle. Go PPE or EFI and do it all. If Edge sounds good to you then go there, i will not. By the way check into Flowmaster diesel exhaust for Pre-07 model dmaxes as well. Full 4" Turbo back with 5" Tip in one kit from Summit or Jegs. I love my Flowmaster.

I understand you love the banks, and for good reason, but IMO they are not for what you are looking for. If I were to keep my DPF, I would do the full banks system, if DPF goes I would go a route that other companies have developed it for. And if you are upgrading your CP3, Turbo, tranny etc. I do not believe banks will give you all your capabilities anyways. If you are willing to get serious go with a larger tuner or programming. May check into HP tuners as well.

By the way, add a lift pump to your list...

In an earlier post a person stated that the EDGE INSIGHT left an ECM footprint that could be traced by GM. Anyone know if this is really the deal? I was looking at getting one of these and I was under the impression that it was just a gauge pack that did not mess with the ECU, but only displayed the sensors that were already on the truck. I have 8 years of warranty and do not want to void it.

Any information would be great!!!

Tyler@MPF

It is only a gauge and does not flash the ECM.

Here's a couple of pix of the inside of the DPF on a 2008 LMM.
Do you really want your exhaust blowing through a bunch of screens like this?!

sorry to jump into this post but seems it's went many ways. i'm looking at buying a new lmm. i forsure will wanna do exhaust to it but does any one know what gm will allow with out ruining my warranty?

You cant really do much of anything that is warranty friendly. You could do a DPF back exhaust, but it will yield no performance increase.
