Guys,
I am trying to decide on a towing mod. (edge/van aaken/predator/banks sixgun or bully dog rapid ) but which if any have transmission protection. I like the Edge and bully because they have monitors but more worried about the trans. then the monitor.
Thanks
J

I've been towing with the Edge for 3 years with very good results; power and fuel economy. Your best trans protection is an upgraded trans however... I used it on level 2 for two years before upgrading my trans towing from 12k to 16k; I was also racing at the local racetrack on level 4 almost every week. When I opened the trans last year, all the clutches were brand spanking new, I didn't even change them. The attitude monitor is an added bonus that protects your stuff from excesive EGTs among other things.

I know it's built into the Banks. But even the Banks will trash a tranny at the higher levels. Don't know about the others but I think you're safe as long as you stick with the lower power settings. Just a 40 horse upgrade seems to do wonders for these.

Edge EZ has trans protection. Only 65 horse max. 200 ft lbs of torque. I already had guages so it was a little less expensive for me. I have not towed with it yet but I am looking forward to our trip at the end of this month.

The Van Aaken has tranny protection.
JKP,
I also tow a 04 Forest River Sanpiper 38' toyhauler weighs about 15k with 3 sportsman quads inside the garage in the back. I tow in level 2 with T/H on and Level 3 when not towing. While I do not race on drag strips I have been known to out gun some unsuspecting individuals who under estimate these trucks on steroids. I have never limped the tranny and the edge juice even smooths the shifting over stock. If you drive balls to the wall I imagine you will upgrade the tranny... IMHO..Jim
