any thoughts on this matter? I have been using "marvel mystery oil" and in the winter i use a "cetane boost" anti-gell additve as well, i am not sure who makes that stuff but it comes in the white bottle and is sold everywhere.
Is this sufficient or are there other brands i should look into?
thanks,
Paul

Thanks to the assist from 4kops and the product and testing kit he sent me, I will be testing E-ZOIL's Diesel Aid+ (the product he sent), RBP's High Performance Diesel Additive, POWERSERVICE's Diesel Fuel Supplement +Cetane Boost (the white bottle), and others (when I get them).
Test will consist of:
- water removal
- actual useage in the truck
- performance
- mpg's
- driving power
If any vendors wish to assist me by sending a product (ex. Stanadyne, FPPF Total Power, FPPF 8+ Cetane, Primrose Power Master 405, etc.) please PM me for my address. If would be very helpful.
Thank you.

Redline diesel fuel catalyst used to work well for me and it is the only additive I have ever tried that actually improved my mile:cool2: age!

I say go with the guys who make the pump if you want the best additive to protect it.
Stanadyne Performance Formula (http://www.stanadyne.com/new/ppt/showfile.asp?id=1156) is the best on the market IMHO.

I put stablizer in my tanks if I am not driving our truck enough to use the fuel in 6 months (full tanks = 53 gallons). When we travel during hot weather then sometimes I will put in a little outboard 50:1 oil. I always carry some Dextron during the winter to use in the fuel if it starts gelling.

I Use Power Service but i'm not sure who makes it but the the same company also makes Diesel 911 if you ever gel up. It has cetane boost pluss cleaners and lubricants so it also works as an anti gel.
Okay here is a dumb question for those using Power Service additive. How much per 20 gal. tank ?

The 32 oz bottle treats 100 gallons. So:
32oz/100 gals
16oz/50 gals
8oz/25gals
4oz/12.5 gals
2oz/6.25 gals
So, 1oz/3.125 gals. By that, would use about 8oz in our SB trucks (26 gals) and get 4 tank fulls out of one bottle.
BTW, that is one of the 5 products that I am currently testing.
RBP's High Performance Diesel Additive
E-Zoil's Diesel Aid+
Stanadyne's Performance Formula
Power Service's Diesel Fuel Supplement+Cetane Boost (the white bottle)
FPPF's Total Power
