Hey guys just got my PPE tuner and i loaded up a tune. i was wondering if it really necessary to pull my fuses everytime i wanna load a tune or not. i dont wanna blow any fuses but i would rather not take them out every time. Just wondering if anyone out there has not taken out there fuses and not blown any while loading tunes or anything. Thanks guys

Well some have luck on tuning without removing the fuses. You are not going to blow the fuses. It is just the programmer can get scrambled the data on the serial data bus when devices pop back on during the program portion. PPE do seem to be more sensitive to these extra devices. Never owned one but just read about them here. Now i use EFILive but the only thing I do is disable headlights if at night, turn radio off, turn off the HVAC, and if driver side door is open I just manually close the latch with my finger to stop the door chime. Never had a programming issue but PPE may do it differently. I don't know the programming time for PPE but maybe some more wait states during the procedure may eliminate problems.

I figure if everything is off it be ok. Just don't want anything to spike the system like a heavy draw fro headlights, radio, hvac. The modules are very voltage sensitive so if they drop to much they can end up resetting or sleeping.

the only time that PPE says to remove the fuses is when you are putting the tuner onto ur truck and when removing the tuner. when u go to change a tune, you dont need to pull any fuses. just make sure everything is off, everything is unpluged from ur cig lighter and aux. port and if u have a aftermarket radio, make sure its off. i have a aftermarket radio and and i just pop the face off every time i change a tune
