Ok, so now this fall you can order a Trailblazer SS with the 6.0L at 390hp. You can now buy the SSR with the 6.0L 390hp motor. All of this and the Silverado SS is STILL at 345hp. GM, you got your head up your ass?

Bob Lutz needs to be fired as does any other GM management that comes up with these outrageous ideas. The trailblazer with the inline 6 is a very good idea...yet GM is still stuck on the putting V8's in everything. How about a small diesel in a car/small suv??? Sort of like an updated Typhoon I guess.. redneck45 05-31-2005, 08:32 AM Actually, jeep makes a diesel liberty, everyone was waiting for it last year, then when they finally release it, diesel is 40 cents a gallon more than gas! vettelovralexand 05-31-2005, 11:40 AM It is all about the cash, GM is trying to keep costs down by introducing two vehicles running the same platform with the same engine and tranny, that way the cost for crash/emissions certification can be better spread. (Note: the ssr and trailblazer are on the same chassis). GM probably doesn't see a whole lot of a reason to spend the money certifying the SS silverado with a new motor since it will probably be replaced by the GMT900 platform in one or two years anyway.
