Is it against GM's policy to work on a vehichle if its in litigation? The reason Im asking is my dealer wont finish work to my truck because it is in litigaion, I have a lemon law suit agains GM because of a no crank condition that cannot or has not been fixed yet. Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Is the dealer trying to fix the condition you filed the lemon law against, or something else?

Did you actually file a lawsuit, or are you using the BBB to resolve it?

The dealer is trying to repair other issues. squeaks and rattles from the front end, found cv joints loose along with other components, they got this fixed what they wont fix as of right now is the speedo not going to zero, 4 bent rims(cheap aftermarket rims), the no crank condition, and the poor fuel economy, i was getting 17+ now im getting 15- since the flash that was supposed to keep the no crank condition from happening. Also Im having an issue with the brake pedal pulsating with the truck running but not moving. And yes I am suing them for my money back thru a lemon law lawyer. Been about 5 weeks and havent heard anything yet.

If GM has been served with an actual lawsuit then legally they may be off the hook to do anything until it is resolved, especially since you did not pursue the remedy (the FREE BBB arbitration) that is called out in the warranty.

Have you or your lawyer called GM to see if they are withholding the repairs, or is it the dealer deciding that they might not get paid for the work by GM, and aren't accepting that risk?

Also, did you buy the truck from that dealer with the Regency package? All the alterations / parts by Regency are covered by them, and not GM... (like the bent rims). GM has no responsibility for stuff like that.

No I have not called, but I dont see how they can "be off the hook", I still own the truck and the warranty that goes along with it. Yes I know that the dealer is responsible for the Regency package and all that comes along with it. Yes it is the dealer which I bought the truck from. I dont know what the repair shop was going by as far as fixing things, I have to go pick up the truck tomorrow and maybe ill find out then from the owner of the dealership as to why it was not repaired and what can be done to resolve this situation. thanks for the replies.

After seeing many law suits go wrong and different things... the most important part I've learned is DO NOT FOLLOW ANY TYPE OF HEAR-SAY.... ESPECIALLY strangers from the INTERNET... why you have a LAWYER!!
We could steer you wrong ACCIDENTALLY and screw your case up TOTALLY.

I Know you mean well, but, stay off the internet when asking legal questions about a case that's in process; it could cost you SO much money, man.

I went threw this with my old Toyota pre ignition knock and supercharger issues it took about a year to get resolved.

good luck

YES LISTEN TO YOUR LAWYER BUT ALSO USE YOUR HEAD! :)

the lawyer gets a cut of whatever the settlement is ( that killed me in my case )

Ok, dealer still doenst want to do anything with the truck havent heard anything back from the Lawyer. The owner says that he is willing to work something out if GM doesnt buy the truck back. Since Regency has went out of bussiness I have absolutely no warranty over the Regency installed items. The owner was willing to work with me in taking the leveling kit off so that my suspension would be covered by gm and he was willing to give me a set of new stock rims and tires to replace my bent rims. But wants to wait and see if GM buys it back. So i guess its going to be a waiting game.

Driving your truck is probably against gm's policy:nutkick:

lol, yea thats about right and thats how they look at it. Lawyer says i still hold the warranty and that GM should still honor the warranty, that the dealer probably doesnt want to do the work pending the buy back.Driving your truck is probably against gm's policy:nutkick:
