I know I have seen this some where in a post, but could not relocate it  . What differences might I see in the direction of the baffles in the muffler? I believe recommended direction is with the baffles open to the rear.

So....
baffles open to the front = ???
baffles open to the rear = ???

Thanks

Baffles open to the rear. That's how mine is installed.

Better noise supressioin with baffles to the front. Little higher back pressure that way thus a little higher EGT (probably <30 degrees). But if these are not your concern, baffles to the back is the original design.

Thanks Mitchagain...
I figured on the noise suppression and back pressure, but I didn't really know what would result from the extra back pressure.

I just purchased a 5" system from RPM outlet.com made by Flo-Pro they call it "Moto Blue" for only $359.00 http://www.rpmoutlet.com/duraexfive.htm . It has baffles in both directions, and it sounds great!!!!!!!!!!!:)
My EGT's droped at least 250 degrees, turbo spools up faster, and I felt more power instantly! They also sell a 6" diameter (304) stainless steel tip for only $39.00

I have mine installed baffles to the back, and it's pretty quite, actually too quite. I think I'm going to take it off just to make sure. Plus I stil have the cat on which isn't helping anything.

Get rid of the kitty and let the dogs out!

Has anyone run it both ways to see if there was a sound level difference?
