Have them give you a better explanation on what happened. Many dealers are not familiar with these engines and will try to get you to pay when you should not have to. Ask to speak to the service manager and get a better explanation. If you don’t get satisfaction then ask to speak to the regional rep. If you don’t trust them find a local Bosch dealer like we are and have them do it.

I called the GM customer help line. The gentleman told me it was covered and I needed to get it to a dealership. My truck is an 02 with 120K miles. Hope it all works out because I don't want to pay that kind of money.

Good lesson on the injector special policy issue. Let gm make the call, not the dealer - since many don't want to deal with the sp at this point.

I hate to be pessimistic, but customer assistance has NO authority to warranty anything...its still up to your dealer or his rep...good luck, bro!

Dealer called me today and said there was a diaphram in the turbo that was bad. I didn't know of any such thing in the turbo. He told me that I would have to replace the entire turbo in order to get it. I thought a turbo consisted of an impeller, shaft, bushings, and the housing. Anyone know what they may be talking about?

Understood, I should have said gm will communicate with the area rep to verify the claim. If it's not under the sp guidelines it's not happening. Don't under estimate gm's need to keep customers now.

Find out what your in service date is. The seven years starts from that. If you have an early 02 your time may be up.

If you have an LB7 they may be talking about the waste gate actuator. If you are paying I would suggest getting the Banks one insead of the factory one. It is not a common thing to go bad though.
