Stoopid question? Maybe! Are your stock gauges in metric? I am assuming that

the speed is in km right? How about temp gauge, C? Any pics, just a curious Texan? Like I said stupid question. So if you must flame, flame on!!:ro)

Yes all metric. I would prefer speed in km/h and the rest to not be in metric but I don't get a choice in that.

Yes it is in Metric
Everything, Speed in KM/H, Temps in Deg C, Instead of 'Cruise' in green we have a diagram of a speedo that lights green....

It's funny how we adopt the metric system but yet still understand SAE better in some cases.

I know and understand mph and km/h equally. All of our roads are 'mile roads' not km roads.
Kpa (kilopascals) means nothing to me. PSI is all I know and understand. We measure our tires in PSI etc. I don't think many Canadians would know how much Kpa is in their tires.
When I look at the size of something I say it is 10 inches long, not 25.4cm. We build houses using feet and inches but I know metric just as well (meter, cm, dm etc)
I prefer Celsius to Fahrenheit. While I understand that 72 is room temperature, 32 is freezing and 100 is damn hot, I prefer the metric system for temperature. 0 is freezing, 21 is room temperature, water boils at 100 and 40 is damn hot.
For the post part we use pounds and ounces. I weight myself in pounds.

No real point to this post, just thought it might interest some of you. :)

Celsius is more direct to the point, but you gotta go with what you know.

The same reason we have an orange pig tail for the preheaters and not a "wait to start" light and that there is no "E" 1/2 and "F" on the fuel gauges but the pictures of levels. That's because "Wait to Start" is something different in French same with Empty and Full. We need one of those english / french buttons for the dash beside the Metric / Standard button.

FYI - Even the new US trucks have the "orange pigtail" (it's just referred to as a "wait to start") and the green "speedo" for cruise.

I guess, technically, the P R N D on the gear shift should be in French.

I was going to make a joke here about the only reason that you guys have the symbols on the fuel gauge is because Canadians can only read pictures, but I won't go there:)

Hey, and don't forget that we spell all our words different that in the USA!! " Hows aboot that ,eh? " ( just see South Park, or Terrence & Phillip!! )

:joke: So, if it were written in " Canadian " it would be hard for other countries to understand!! Or even better, if it were written in each provinces dialect, like " Newfenese " you would never be able to read it!!

Take care,

Will

It's funny how the creators of southpark think so highly of canadians. Like how there whole head hinges when they talk. It's pretty funny though!

I am disappointed. I thought you would have been in there earlier with that observation:muahaha:
