Well been enjoying the new truck and this forum for about six weeks and figured it was time for me to post a DIY mod. I found a heck of a deal on a Cargo Divider for the CMS on ebay and just had to have it. Well when it arrived I couldn’t believe how well built this thing was but as I put it together I was very disappointed that it could not be removed except by partial disassembly requiring a wrench. Well this just wasn’t acceptable so this weekend when I had to remove it to haul mulch and do yard work I decided it was time for a mod. Here is what I did.
Machined the right slide mount at the bottom just enough so it would slip onto the CMS rail easily and trimmed the plastic insert to match.

Cut the front of the left slide shortening it to 9”. This gets rid of the front “Safety” latch and allows it to slide farther forward. Two other items I didn’t like about the unit. Then I machined the front bottom of this slide as well so it could slip onto the CMS rail.

Here it is re-assembled and out of the truck.

It takes a little bit of jockeying about to slip it in but once you know the right maneuver it only takes about 10 seconds. First slip it in below the rails.

Now lift left side up and onto the rail.

Now the right side.
