I researched like crazy before i bought my lift. Everyone on here said I wouldn't need the replacement driveshaft for my truck on the 6" pro comp. Then, what do you know, I install the kit, throw it in 4hi and it rubs that crazy. i can't use my 4hi anymore. took it into gm for routine service, they said the driveshaft is too short and the angle causes it to rub. Sooo, what should I do? What can I do? I really don't want to spend $500 on the aftermarket driveshaft from pro-comp. Is there any other way around it? I miss having 4hi

The reason of the issue is not as much the wrong length as the OE ujoints can not hold to the rpm at the new working angle and you are feeling a vibration. No matter what lift you have once the front diff is droped down for the lift kit and you intend to drive 30+mph you will want to upgrade the front driveline.

so the only fix would be the pro-comp driveshaft for that lift? thanks

Or not drive that fast in 4wd. Not everyone feel this problem on smaller lift kits for the reason they might drive over 30mph in 4wd. My truck has a 4" and I don't have a upgraded drive line because I don't go that fast in 4wd and don't ever feel the problem.

Yep nick covered it. I had the same problem..replaced the shaft and all was well. I didn't change mine right a way. I saved up and then upgraded.

yea, i'm going to have to save up for a new one. i like driving fast in 4hi. i recently had a post in the tire section about the lack of traction on my toyo's. highway driving in south florida during the summer rain is a pain in the ass so i like being able to throw it in 4hi and blast by all the old people driving 35 in a 70. can't do that with my garbage toyo a/t's.
