I am looking for honest reviews of the Plasti-Kote bed liner kit. I know that line-x is far superior, but I found a sale on this stuff to get it for $25 a gallon. I would like to know how it holds up over time on a properly prepared surface. I might buy two gallons to do the truck bed and my utility trailer. At this price I could redo them a bunch of times to equal the $500+ for line-x for just the truck.

I used it on a portable dog box for my truck. I like the look of it, it seems to stay glossy even when subjected to the elements. It is very "gritty" and rough though, I'm not sure I'd like that rough of a truck bed. It's rough enough if you drag something over it, it will sand itself off to some extent. It's not like I am rough on it or load anything on it at all, so as to it's durability under any kind of use, I can't testify. It did crack some in the winter, but another coat seemed to take care of it. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I'm still on the fence about this one. I have the plastic liner now, but would like to get rid of it. I also have a rubber floor mat to keep things from sliding on the smooth plastic that I would probably put back in if I changed to the roll on liner.
I'm still unsure because I don't haul rock or equipment in the bed. That's what I've got trailers for, so I don't think it will see much more abuse than hunting or fishing stuff. I've also got the rollup cover which is closed 99.9% of the time and might get a fiberglass tonneau to make it water tight.
