I have an 05 lly with allison. I have a BD Power Intimidator. 50,75,90,110hp.
I can't get over the 75. It won't back it on the 75 and it throws 2 codes on the 50 if you pass a car. That is about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. WOT is out of the question. I just wanted to run the lowest setting for fuel mileage which i gained about 4 mpg. I guess i will save my money for a major upgrade.
Anyway to get to the point a friend of mine has an 05 Ford 6.0. It has the Edge on level 5 stacked with the 100hp Predator and you can't make it slip or get any hesitation. It runs like greased owl sh_t. What is the deal?

it must be something wrong b/c most of the stock allisons will hold the 100=hp range stock i ran the hot juice and predator stack for about 36000 miles and the only problems i had was racing and hitting fifth and it would limp at about 85-90mph.
PS i seen a 05 6.0 ford puke the tranny with only the juice on it. the ally is a much safer tranny. but i would have someone check that out

What are the 2 codes you are getting.

it says fifth gear ratio error and then the other i would have look but it was something like 0700 or something close. I got the book out in the garage. It has been in the truck for about 4000 miles. I did a quick learn a few times but even if you crowd it about 1/4 throttle on 90 it throws it to third gear and stays there untill you clear the codes.

The 0700 code is giving when the TCM wants the MIL light to come on.

700 is just a genaric code, you gota have someting that will look at and clear the TCM.
Have you changed your spin on filter?
You shouldnt be limping it at that level but if you limp it it will take less power to limp it again.
I'm in central IL......have your friend come find me):h Were you live exactly?

Though your buddies torqueshift does perform well, it wont for very long. Juice/***. alone on #5 has proven to be too much for them on more than one occasion. They are good stock trannies though and will put down some good numbers (13.5's). However, they will not last long doing this.

I have a cousin with a 04 powerstroke/torqueshift. he has the bullydog dominator/the outlook monitor. His chip defuels during shifts (allison come w/that) And he has his fuel to increase w/boost do to tranny slipage and being in the shop for some probs w/that. As for mine i have the predator and have had mine on 120hp and mine has never slipped even in 5th gear. Luck i guess!

Last year at Scheid in Effingham, Illinois My friend Dynoed his 03 D-Max.
They had an 04 ford with 3000 miles on on the Dyno. They put a 150hp chip in it and I think when they got to the 100hp setting the torque converter welded itself to the crankshaft. They had to drag it off the dyno. The warranty ofcourse didn't pay for it.

I can get the truck to hold the 50 and the 75 decent. With the 75 you don't crowd it in fifth or going into fifth. As for the 90 and the 110. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle in 1-4th runs good. shifts pretty hard but I could live with. As for anything over 1/2 throttle you can feel the tranny surge just slipping away. If you lift a little you gain speed alot faster. Still passing gear is a big no no. I know the cure is from ATS or Suncoast but this was about 53000 bucks and the payment is a little too high to play for atleast a little while.

Ticker,
The key to your friends Torqushift life is the fact that he has a (down loader program) Predator, stacked with his (box) Edge. From my experience so far the 5R110 has far surpassed what I first thought it capable of. We have a substancial number of the units living behind stacked boxes, inj, and propane. Unlike the Allison these tranys can be manipulated through the factory ECM. If fact even with the mechanical and hyd. upgrades we do I consider a trans program ( which can be delivered only thru the factory ECM ) a must have if you want this trans to live behind big power. There were some production screw-ups that Ford has resolved. Some of the failures are being caused by EPC mal-functions.
Either too high line pressure (450+, blows snap rings-breaks diodes) or too low line pressure (burns clutches). These problems have been fixed and we are currently incorporating them into our units. These fixes will be released to market soon. Edge, Banks, TS Perf, and others will all make good power but must have Predator, Super-Chips, or SCT tune to make the trans live.
Hope this answers your question.
