Cousin is having some problems. Any ideas? I'm posting the conversations we've been having to hopefully help. I've also asked him to find out the codes he's setting. It appears he's already talked to Edge and has the latest upgrade but I'll verify that.

Need the reference for the diesel chat room or advice? The mods I have put on the Chevy have set off a number of computer codes, which I believe are acting to defuel the rig on steep grades, as I cannot go faster than 40-45 MPH pulling a load.

The truck is in the shop to get new program upgrades, but this may not solve my problem. The chip manufacture “the Edge” suggests that Chevy should be able to modify the computer settings to accept higher limits.

1st question. Did you remove the Cat converter or is it still there? If you removed the Cat you’ll have to install what is known as a ‘Finger stick’ and EGR block off plate. It’s a small bypass circuit that makes the computer think the Cat is still there and the EGR is working as designed. When was your truck manufactured? I’m willing to bet that you have the LLY motor with the variable turbo. The performance mods for that motor have been a little harder to do and they (Edge, Banks, Etc.) have been having some bugs to work out. As far as Edge suggesting that Chevy can modify the computer settings to accept higher limits, haven’t heard that one.
What codes has it been setting? Need to know in order to trouble shoot. What level are you pulling at. Anything above level 3 could put the trans in limp mode. What that means is the internal clutches are slipping so it starts protecting itself. Does it go into any particular gear when limiting you to 40-45 MPH?
Have you done any other Mods?

Him:
Mods include:
1) Air raid filter.
2) 4” stainless steel exhaust with Cat in place.
3) Edge with attitude installed.

Never use a higher setting than the tow mode or level number 2. The transmition appears to work well in the pull, but the power looses steam and I never hit the passing gear in the hills to take advantage of the higher RPM’s. The truck is a 2005 model..

Suggestions anyone?
