With the new CP3 mods that are supposed to be coming soon, will a lift pump be needed to run the present "big programs"?

On Edit: I'm sure its all speculation at this point, just looking for opinions.

likely a lift pump will be needed, but thats all up in the air now.

bassin, Takin it to the next level. A few pumps are in the works by various people. Dont look for it under the 2k range w/ exchange

Yes. There will be an issue on the supply side of the pump with a HP CP3 once the delivery side is fixed.

You will need a decent lift pump, one that can sustain at least 15 PSI at WOT!

That is for big programs AND Sticks. Only a big program? 7-10 PSI. But when Steve Cole releases his CP3, there will probably be a revision to the EXTREME program so accomodate more flow especially the NOS/ Big Turbo and Sticks guys:ro)

OK, lemme see if I have this correct.....to make your Dmax truly bad-ass, you'll need, in parts only:

Aurora turbo: $3800
Head studs: $ 800
Injectors: $1200
Reworked CP3: $2200
TTS Extreme: $1300
Lift pump $ 500 (???)

TOTAL $9800

Did I forget anything? I left out all the common stuff that we probably already have.

Add $5,000 for a badass tranny. Call it an even $15k.

Right? Or no? I'm not drawing judgement here, just trying to get it straight in my head...

I'd wait until a few honest reviews get done, not a "Yep, it started after the install, so everything is great" review like is becoming common on expensive products.

Have you any Tech II information as to Rail Pressure numbers for us Eric at WOT with a high HP Program?

I do know what Mike's truck does now under WOT with his currect setup and what it did before the injectors/turbo. Lift pump was unchanged the whole time. Next upgrade will be another step bigger injectors and the new ATS pump. There will be some other variables in the test with the larger injectors, but if it will hold the biggens, it should be fine with smaller holes.

Hopefully this stuff gets cheaper with time. If not, you'd be silly to buy a dmax if you want max power on #2 for the least amount dough. Drugs would be another story though, I guess

Drugs are good for going fast but are no-go for pullers. I'm looking forward to hearing what Tomac and HBC can do with the full monty, although at $15k+, it's pipe dreaming for me...

Somewhere in another thread the quote was, in pulling, "go big, or go home."

A question that needs to be asked is.
How much more flow do we realize?
What kind of warranty do these come with?
The CP3 is a pretty sensitive unit.
I'm concerned about spending $2200.00 on somethig and having it wear out it 10,000 miles.

I realize it's a racing kinda thing and as such warranties are genrally of the tailight variety, just wondering

I'd just run the worked cp3 during competition months(6months), and the rest of the year run the stocker............thats if there was a wearing out problem to occur..............i guess we'll soon find out how long they last :ro)

Whats the price range for one of these, stock?

Might end up being a $2500-3500 investment? (keeping core and outright buying one)

Would this strictly be an LB7 mod, or can the LLY's also play?

I wonder if the 06 Dmax gets a new pump, and if so, will it be improved?

While I have zero data about it, seems that GM increased fuel filter restriction, and they just might ramp it up. Guess we'll have to wait.

I believe Tomac will give a good assessment. Not only here but on the tracks.
I don't see any one better right now to truly test the modification to The HP Pump. He's a true competitor that isn't looking to gain anything but in the competition he would like to devourer.

On that note, I wonder if even the change from a single pleat to a dual pleat OEM fuel filter has had a measurable increase in restriction... perhaps something minor and unoticable in stock applications but perhaps adding ever so slightly to the problem for bombers?? Then again, maybe I don't have a clue what I'm talking about. Carry on folks, nothing to see here ):h

I'm going to test a single pleat on the dyno against a dual pleat. Like always, I'll report what I find.

If you want to compare the restriction of the 2 filters why not just use a fuel vacum guage on the test port and see how much more restriction the dual pleat might put on the system.

Some people have the Nicktane or Mega filter which is even more restriction.

I'd be intrested in knowing what a stock fuel system pulls for a vacum at idle and at full throtle, to compare it with a modified system

Yea but thats 40,000 1/4 mile races or 176,000 full pulls  .

So it works out fairly cheap :grd:

Lift pump will take any filter restriction out of the question..

772 uncorrected hp with a MEGA filter installed.....Didnt seem to hinder it any
