What is the story with these vehicles? I have seen several of them at a dealer about 20 miles away from here. Are they vehicles that should be avoided? Do you think that a person could get a better deal or use that as leverage on buying one? I hope I posted this in the right thread, if it needs moved the feel free to move it.

Sounds like vehicles that GMAC repossessed because the owners couldn't make the payments. They could also be lemon buy backs.

Steer the hell away. These are most likely buy backs. The manufacturers will generally offer to buy a vehicle BEFORE the consumer completes the lemon law process. This way they can still sell the vehicle to some poor sap and not have to have the word "lemon" on the title. I had one bought back....stay away....

At the very least, request one of the Techs here to run a VIN report. If it is a buy back, it should have an interesting maintenance history.
