Good luck. nothing like stealing tunes from PPE. Why even bother with EFI Live if your going to do that. Oh maybe cause you will have in your sig you tuned your truck and then we can refer to this thread.

Yes I am bitter about this stuff, as I am a tuner.

Do I have this in my sig??? No! Its just easier to change from one tune to the next. But thx for your attitude! Just tying to make my life easier. I spent the $$$$$ it"s mine. What you do with your time and your $$$$ is up to you. I know people are bitter about others stealing and claiming there tunes as there own, I'm not one of them. If you'd like to talk any more a/b this just pm me. I have no problem being honest.

Yeah, that'll work.

What you are doing isn't a bad way to learn the results of tuning modifications. When you are done downloading one of the PPE tunes into EFI Live, compare it to the stock tune to see what was changed to acheive the results gotten with the PPE tune. Spend a couple hours really going over it to understand the relationships between the various tables. I'm no expert by a LONG shot. I only wish I had more time to play with this stuff.

Thank you for your response. I am in the learning process with this and would like to know how each hp levels work of my PPE change/ and what was change to learn from. I have two tunes already that came with the EFI tuner to look at to. There are no classes around here to really learn what to do and what NOT to do. I just wish some people wouldn't jump the gun and point fingers!

Like said MMLMM that is stealing there tune. But if your not selling your PPE and keeping the tunes or giving the tunes out I don't see a problem so much.

Tark if you go to Durmaxtuner.com Nick has a few free vids of how to do some things with EFI.

Yep still have my PPE, it's just easier to learn when you can look at everything in front of you by switching from tune to tune seeing what was changed.(You can do some seriously damage too!) I know that people make a living on here by making tunes and selling them but when someone is trying to learn and post a question, that doesn't mean to bash them and then ask there motives later. I'm a father of three and own a small business and don't have much time to make this a career! Hope you feel more like a man now! Thx(DOZERBOY) for the info about nick's web site, I had forgot about that.
MMLMM I thought this was a grown up site...
how much longer are you going to keep this up?

I'm with MMLMM on this one. PPE spent allot of time developing their tunes. If you are truely just doing this to learn how to tune there are plenty of tunes in the library and members here that would share tunes with you to learn from.

Its because youp opened with "Newb to EFI help copying tunes"....

that means to me, and pretty much everyone else that you want to copy the PPE tunes....

If you are looking for help in tuning, try, "hey, just got EFI Live, I want to build my own tunes, where should I start. Any tips or tricks, any pointers".....

I would have came back with, try adjusting timing a tiny percent, then add some PW at high mm3 and 2000-2500 rpm, just a little, and see how it changes. Also bring the boos up in moderation. A little here and there will get you going. Adjust the speed limiter too. dont forget to switch units to imperial under edit menu when getting started, as you will prolly be more familiar with them.

Does that help?

How F do you steal something you already paid for? Turning around and selling it in EFI Live format would be called PIRACY. The OP made no mention of that intention. That would be the unethical part. Your opinion may vary, and I really don't care.

Duplicate a few 100 dollar bills, dont even spend them just call the cops and show them what you have...then get back to me....Or how about this, copy a PPE tune, read the copyright info that pops up and get back to me with your opinion....

X2 copyright laws have a very far reach. A while back there was a forum that wanted to do a members calendar. During research they found out that using pictures of GMs, ETC trucks could open them up for a copyright law suit.
